September already? Really?
After a fantastic Fringe it’s nearly time to get back to Affectable, but there are a few changes this time round… It’s all listed on the Affectable Acting page on the sidebar ——->
…but I know how seldom people actually pay attention to sidebars, so you get an actual reminder post. Don’t say I don’t spoil you.
BEGINNERS is suspended until January. If you don’t have any formal training or professional-level performing experience, this is the group for you – but alas, there’s only one of me and I know I’ll have my work cut out with running Regulars and rehearsing the Ensemble for the double bill in November. Rather than risk running Beginners sessions with insufficient energy, it made more sense to put these sessions on hold until January. No experience or training is necessary. You’ll find details of times and termly fees here: http://tightlacedtheatre.com/getting-involved/ensemble-training/starting-affectable/
REGULARS start back on Thursday 13 September. Sessions will be 12.00 – 16.00 and 17.00 – 21.00 on Thursdays and 14.00 – 18.00 on Saturdays. This is a weekly commitment, but you don’t have to attend the same session every week. NB: On Thursday 13th September there will only be one session, 12.00 – 16.00. I have to be in Glasgow in the evening as one of my short stories is being performed at Outside Thoughts (this is not just a shameless plug – actors, you might want to get in touch about auditions!)
Regulars is the group for people who have some formal training and/or professional-level performing experience. It’s free to attend, because it’s all part of my plan to build a pool of actors trained in Affectable – the quid pro quo is that you commit to the training, thus becoming part of that pool, and in return I give you something you’ll hopefully find a very useful addition to your toolkit and when a project comes up for which you might be a good fit, you’ll be invited to our casting workshops.
So that’s the plan. If you’d like to train in Affectable but aren’t sure which group you should be in, contact Jen, giving a brief outline of your training and experience and we can figure out what would suit you best
